  PROGRESSIVE PATRIOTISM (Written by Warren Maloney 18 May 2025) The re-elected Labor Government in Australia has adopted a slogan of "Progressive Patriotism" - It is a variation, I guess, of MAGA but is focussed on taking the middle ground of Politics and implementing " Woke " and DEI style policies, whilst pushing the Conservatives further Right, and the Greens further Left. It will be interesting to see how it works. The 2nd term Labor Government has the highest majority ever for a Labor Government, and for the 1st time in Australia's history, the majority of Cabinet members are Women and under 50 years of age.  Of course, I am very biased in my support for the above politically and patriotically.   " LAY IN FIELD " (Written by Warren Maloney - 3rd May 2025) It is a military expression that always brings a pause after saying or reading. He “ lay in field ”! It has a simplicity of meaning that says “ we never found his body parts, but we know he died in the battle. ” There is no comfort in the expression but rather a series of questions never to be answered.   Snippet 18 - THE EVENTS THAT SURROUND US (Written by Warren Maloney 18th February 2025) WE LIVE WITHIN OUR TIME AGE As much as we wish, we cannot avoid the Events that surround us. An example of this is shown in the lives and times of William Helm and Grace Dunderdale [1] . They spent their whole lives separately and together in the small Village of Chipping, Lancashire, England [2] . Both their families can be traced through 3 previous generations in the Village – a small farming community nestled in a pretty valley and on the edge of a large forest. Their parents had experienced the beheading of their King, the brutality of the Cromwell reign, the return of Royalty, and had accommodated themselves to the fight over Religion that had raged for over 100 years.
