Eulogy 3 - Russell George Wilkinson (1939-2019)

I WISH I HAD A KITE TO FLY TODAY

(Eulogy written by Warren Maloney on 3rd July 2019 for Facebook for Russell (Russ) Wilkinson)

Daylesford gained greatly by having Russ Wilkinson amongst us.

Not only did we learn about spiders, and kite making/flying, and mahjong rules, but also we had his focused and talented advocacy to backbone community planning and inappropriate permit fights.

Russ had such a real love for Community that encouraged steps forward together, and we tried to emulate, and sometimes we succeeded.

And one day he took us on an adventure of kite making and flying out Glenlyon way. It was a day of simplicity yet complexity.

The two qualities intermixed was what we lost when we lost Russ.
