Snippet 7 - Every Labrador has its own Party Trick (1976)

SNIPPET OF FAMILY HISTORY  -  No. 7

"We are born with a History, and we live to tell another Story." (Warren Maloney)

EVERY LABRADOR HAS ITS OWN PARTY TRICK

The very noble, Toby Jug (1974-1976), delighted in waiting until our guests went to our one & only toilet which unfortunately was situated out side to the left of the kitchen.

It was a 1920s timber house, and so the toilet was built in timber, and then renovated over the decades witha concrete floor and sewerage - no need for the Can Man by the 1970s. It was not loved by our guests because it was exterior and could be a chilly position on a Winter day.

in addition, the toilet was at the base of a long backard slope, almost cricket pitch length. Perfect for a good run down from the back fence for a noble Labrador, keen to display his favourite party trick.

Toby would wait until the Visitor(or his loving Owner) had entered the toilet, closed and clicked the latch lock, and settled into position.

Toby would then run down the slope from the back fence, throw his strong body against the door, thereby opening it, and, to the astonishment of the seated occupant, grab the toilet roll flapping end and run with it up to the back of the garden. The toilet paper unravelled in a long stream. the Occupant yelled to no avail and then was forced to grab what was left of the toilet roll.

Our guests made only short visits to our house for some reason.
