Poetry 4 - A Source of my Knowledge (1969)

A SOURCE OF MY KNOWLEDGE

(Written by Warren Maloney – June 1969)

Love is the desire to understand my Woman,

Her breasts are a rapport for that knowledge.

Her breasts reflect not her sex,

Not the mammary instincts to feed,

To provide her test of Motherhood,

No, they are her Stage, reflecting

Her emotions, her desires, her concealed

            Ardent will to please another.

Their lives change with the advancing

Cries of her desires and my needs.

If she kneels above,

                        They fall with the love

                        Of urgent necessity

                        To mother and be mothered.

                        If she lies below,

                        They retreat like snow

                        In firm pillows

That cry out for the touch.

If she lies by my side,

                        No man could ever hide

                        The lusty wants

Of his protecting mouth and body.

Beyond all, there are her nipples.

Blossoms, sometimes soft, sometimes strong,

But always quietly reflecting

The care of my fingers.
