Eulogy 17 - Marie Anderson (1931-2009)

PASS THE PARCEL

(Eulogy written and published on Facebook on 27th July 2019 for
Marie Anderson (1931-2019) –
a Friend of Warren & Karen Maloney)

Exceptional teachers, I believe, have both the eagerness to impart knowledge (and the ways to knowledge), but also TEACH so that the students want to TEACH others.

Marie Anderson was such a natural, instinctive teacher.

We never saw her in her decades in the classroom; but we experienced her teaching, her knowledge, her clear thinking, her determination, in our friendship in Daylesford and in her founding/nurturing work with U3A Hepburn Shire.

Marie was exceptional, and she passed on her love of Art, of History, of Political Advocacy, and of sustainable Community Leadership.

And she passed on her humbling sense of time and place!

We said adieu to Marie yesterday.

A chapter closed but an eagerness to "pass it on" was the moisture in our eyes.
